Some of my early readers have asked if Chasing Fireflies will have a sequel. The answer is: sort of. I never intended to write a sequel that follows Liam and Maverick after the end of the novel. However, there are many secondary characters I feel don’t get the attention they deserved in the first book. As such, I will be writing at least one spin-off book. I don’t want to give too much away yet, but one of the secondary characters will move to centre stage, and I will be bringing in several new characters as well.
I have also been working on a contemporary fiction novel for an adult audience that falls into the broad romance category with some family drama thrown in. These won’t be ready any time soon, but I will be posting updates on these projects as they come, so stay tuned for book blurbs, cover reveals and more!
One conjecture that has always intrigued me is the idea of six degrees of separation, that all people on average are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other. While this theory hasn’t been proven, and has been relegated to the rank of ‘urban myth’, I have considered paying homage to the concept by connecting the characters in my books such that at least one character, big or small from one book will be referenced or make a cameo in the next. Consider it an Easter egg hunt among my cast of characters if you will. Happy hunting readers!
